Aluminium can always be recycled, giving value to the whole community

Italy has practically no bauxite, but is prominent on the world stage for the quantity of aluminium recycled.
Aluminium has excellent recycling qualities – in fact, aluminium scrap can be repeatedly recycled without losing its properties or value.

Energy used to obtain aluminium from recycling is a minimal part, often less than 5%, of that needed to produce primary aluminium, giving the community:

  • economic benefits: a precious raw material can be recycled without losing its quality, so new products can be made at lower cost;
  • energy benefits: energy is saved on producing primary aluminium;
  • environmental benefits: natural resources are safeguarded, with partial elimination of waste and reduction of greenhouse gases.
